ABOUT THE EVENT

TICKET Diana Damrau & Slovak PhilharmonicOpera gala

World-renowned opera diva in Bratislava for the first time at the Symphony of Art Festival. The celebrated Diana Damrau will appear with the Slovak Philharmonic for the first time in Slovakia at the Symphony of Art Festival. For more than 25 years, Diana Damrau has been one of the world’s leading operatic sopranos. She is a regular guest at major opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera (New York), La Scala (Milan), the Royal Opera House (London), the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera (Munich) and the Zurich Opera House. She is associated with a repertoire ranging from bel canto to Mozart and Richard Strauss, with roles such as Lucia di Lammermoor, Violetta (La traviata), Manon, Anna Bolena and the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. At the Metropolitan Opera, where she debuted as Zerbinetta in 2005, she has made several role debuts and appeared in the Live in HD cinema broadcasts. She is also the first singer in the history of the Met to have performed both Pamina and the Queen of the Night within the same run of The Magic Flute (in different performances). In recent seasons, she has expanded her repertoire with major Strauss and operetta roles: in January 2025 she debuted as the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier in Berlin (Staatsoper Unter den Linden), and in the 2025/26 season she sang Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus in Vienna and Munich. Upcoming highlights include Arabella (Zurich, April 2026) and the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro (Munich, May 2026). Alongside opera, she is also a renowned recital artist, with long-standing collaborations with Jonas Kaufmann and pianist Helmut Deutsch, and records for Erato/Warner Classics (ECHO and OPUS Klassik awards).

The event is presented by the Bratislava–Ružinov Borough as part of the international multi-genre festival Symphony of Art.
